I can not speak for Revenant or Engineer, but I can speak for ranger so I’ll do so. 1) Most ranger builds are very good at roaming and contesting far point because rangers are very elusive and are kinda bruisers too. However the ranger class has 0 way to deal with an opponents boons, and Something you summon and if it dies, big deal, you summon another one. Disposable. Ranger pets are shown to be companions, you can name them, tame them and fight alongside them without penatly. But every other class has temp pets. Either some sort of time limit or limitation. The Ranger is centered around it's class mechanic. It should be Like previously mentionned they are unlocked per characters - the exploration and collection aspect is reaaally fun, but for altoholics, it can become slightly less enjoyable ahaha. Ranger is the only profession in the game that actually requires active exploration to unlock all skills. Now lemme go back to unlocking all pets on my 7th ranger. A smoke field is a type of field created by certain skills that triggers combo effects when a combo finisher interacts with it. Smoke effects apply stealth to allies or blindness to foes.
